Chronological Study of Tribulation Prophecy
This study
is based on the premise the Lamb of God described in Revelation 5 opens a Seven
Sealed Scroll that contains all of God's judgment of the earth of the
seven year Tribulation. Thus when the
Seventh Seal is opened the judgments are nearly completed since the scroll is
near it's end. In this paradigm the seals summarize the entire seven years of
this judgment of God which Jesus is worthy to fulfill. If this is true then the
prophetic events of the Trumpets and Bowls are recurrent details that
are generally described in the revelation of the Seven Seals. The diagrammatic
example below shows the proper organization for accurate prophetic
interpretation.
[1]
The Apostle
John did not receive the revelation or unveiling of Jesus Christ in an absolute time
linear prophetic manner. He received multiple views much like scenes in a well
scripted movie. The knowledge John receives, just like the seven days events
recorded in Genesis by Moses, is not like old home movies that start and stop
filming new events as they progress sequentially. God as producer and director
of His plan of redemption allows John to see multiple scenarios portraying
symbolically history future. Moses was given multiple details of the past. While
the overall story of redemption flows from a beginning unto the end many of the
scenes overlap in time sequence. Often John sees multiple views from different
angles and perspectives to further enhance understanding of the depth and color
of God's judgments.
The method of
this unveiling in repeated details of the same events would fall under the
common used Rules of Biblical Interpretation called The Law of Recurrence.
It states "The Law of Recurrence involves the recording of an event and the
repetition of the account which gives added details. This principle may be
illustrated by the artist who "blocks out the portrait" of a person at the first
sitting and adds detail at subsequent sittings."[2]
This method of teaching truth is common throughout the Bible and
especially true in the book of Revelation as seen in the chronological outline
below.
A second
premise applied is that the end of the Apostle John's Divinely inspired account
of history future is not at the initiation of the second coming to the earth. Popular Christianity
attempts to place all of John's visions but the last portion before or as the
Lord returns to earth as if all of Revelation 6-18 apply to the seven
years of Tribulation. But when the first premise is applied then one finds many
of the repeated details of end tribulation judgment events continue with
revelation of the 1000 year period to follow. For example some of the scenes
such as Revelation 14 are of the setting up of the New Kingdom in final
destruction and warning about religious Babylon, the salvation of the remnant of
Israel at Mt. Zion, Israel preaching the eternal gospel, and the Lord harvesting
the earth for the time of His reign. Many Scriptures in John's visions as well
as else where refer to the operation of the time of the Day of the Lord. This
same Bible will be relevant for the man of God to be completely equipped for
every good work in the 1000 year earthly kingdom just as today.
The popular
religion of today will make the same interpretational mistakes as the popular
religion of the first coming. Just a all prophecy did not apply to his first
coming which was a stumbling block to proper interpretation of the popular
religion in the days of Jesus all prophecy in Revelation does not have to
be fulfilled before or during Jesus second coming to earth. As seen in chapter
The First
Thousand Years the Day of the Lord is at least 1000 years
beginning at the initiation of Jesus return and ending with the New Heaven and
New Earth with the New Jerusalem with God the Father reunited with all creation.
People of the earth under Jesus reign with Israel will study portions of
Revelation prophetically future just as we do today.
A third premise
set forth throughout this work and applied to the second coming in chapter
The Gathering
is that time in heaven is not the same as time on earth. For
saints of the first resurrection the time passed
from their gathering at the initiation of the Lord's coming until coming with Jesus to Mount of
Olives is "in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye" or "as lightning comes from
the east, and flashes even to the west" whereas the time on earth is at least 1260 days
as God pours out His wrath upon the earth. There is only one first resurrection
which no one has received yet. Also there is but one gathering in this
first resurrection at one second coming. Forgetting the Apostle Peter's
exhortation to his friends about time yields the popular yo yo comings and
multiple gatherings of segregated groups.
1 Corinthians 15:50-52
50 Now I say this, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of
God; nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable. 51 Behold, I tell you a
mystery; we shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, 52 in a moment, in
the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet; for the trumpet will sound,
and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we shall be changed. NASB
(Emphasis mine)
2 Peter 3:8
8 But do not let this one fact escape your notice, beloved, that with the
Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. NASB
(Emphasis mine)
In line with
these three postulates one will find the events of Sixth Seal summarize the entire 1260 days of
Great Tribulation. In this Sixth Seal following the Law of Recurrence the trumpets and bowls run concurrently
describing similar events in escalation of God's wrath. These describe very similar
perspectives of God's use of the earth in judgment of the world.
This
application results in a better harmony of Scripture concerning prophetic
events. For example
with Scripture Jesus coming to earth coincides with the "last trumpet"
as prophetically foretold by the apostle Paul. Paul clearly states the first
resurrection takes place at the time the last trumpet sounds. Thus when
Revelation 6-16 is taken as literal chronological sequence of the events of the
Tribulation many must use great translational interpretational gymnastics to
maintain previous yo yo multiple second comings in multiple gatherings of saints
in multiple first resurrections to avoid an end of tribulation first
resurrection. The student of Scripture should look for an interpretational
method that has but one first resurrection in gathering and one second coming.
Seven Sealed Scroll
Prophecies
Revelation 5:1-10
5:1 And I saw in the right hand of Him who sat on the throne a book written
inside and on the back, sealed up with seven seals. 2 And I saw a strong
angel proclaiming with a loud voice, "Who is worthy to open the book and to
break its seals?" 3 And no one in heaven, or on the earth, or under the earth,
was able to open the book, or to look into it. 4 And I began to weep greatly,
because no one was found worthy to open the book, or to look into it; 5 and one
of the elders said to me, "Stop weeping; behold, the Lion that is from the tribe
of Judah, the Root of David, has overcome so as to open the book and its seven
seals." 6 And I saw between the throne (with the four living creatures) and the
elders a Lamb standing, as if slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which
are the seven Spirits of God, sent out into all the earth. 7 And He came, and He
took it out of the right hand of Him who sat on the throne. 8 And when He had
taken the book, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down
before the Lamb, having each one a harp, and golden bowls full of incense, which
are the prayers of the saints. 9 And they sang a new song, saying,
"Worthy art Thou to take the book, and to break its seals; for Thou wast slain,
and didst purchase for God with Thy blood men from every tribe and tongue and
people and nation.
10 "And Thou hast made them to be a kingdom and priests to our God; and they
will reign upon the earth." NASB
Tribulation Prophecies (First Half)

Opening
of the First Seal
Revelation 6:1-2
6:1 And I saw when the Lamb broke one of the seven seals, and I heard one of the
four living creatures saying as with a voice of thunder, "Come." 2 And I looked,
and behold, a white horse, and he who sat on it had a bow; and a crown was given
to him; and he went out conquering, and to conquer. NASB
Opening
of the Second Seal
Revelation 6:3-4
3 And when He broke the second seal, I heard the second living creature saying,
"Come." 4 And another, a red horse, went out; and to him who sat on it, it was
granted to take peace from the earth, and that men should slay one another; and
a great sword was given to him. NASB

Opening of the Third Seal
Revelation 6:5-6
5 And when He broke the third seal, I heard the third living creature saying,
"Come." And I looked, and behold, a black horse; and he who sat on it had a pair
of scales in his hand. 6 And I heard as it were a voice in the center of the
four living creatures saying, "A quart of wheat for a denarius, and three quarts
of barley for a denarius; and do not harm the oil and the wine." NASB

Opening of the Fourth Seal
Revelation 6:7-8
7 And when He broke the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth living
creature saying, "Come." 8 And I looked, and behold, an ashen horse; and he who
sat on it had the name Death; and Hades was following with him. And authority
was given to them over a fourth of the earth, to kill with sword and with famine
and with pestilence and by the wild beasts of the earth. NASB

Opening of the Fifth
Seal
Revelation 6:9-11
9 And when He broke the fifth seal, I saw underneath the altar the souls of
those who had been slain because of the word of God, and because of the
testimony which they had maintained; 10 and they cried out with a loud voice,
saying, "How long, O Lord, holy and true, wilt Thou refrain from judging and
avenging our blood on those who dwell on the earth?" 11 And there was given to
each of them a white robe; and they were told that they should rest for a little
while longer, until the number of their fellow servants and their brethren who
were to be killed even as they had been, should be completed also. NASB
Revelation 17 (Summary of first half Tribulation prophecies)
17:1 And one of the seven angels who had the seven bowls came and spoke with me,
saying, "Come here, I shall show you the judgment of the great harlot who sits
on many waters, 2 with whom the kings of the earth committed acts of immorality,
and those who dwell on the earth were made drunk with the wine of her
immorality. " 3 And he carried me away in the Spirit into a wilderness; and I
saw a woman sitting on a scarlet beast, full of blasphemous names, having seven
heads and ten horns. 4 And the woman was clothed in purple and scarlet, and
adorned with gold and precious stones and pearls, having in her hand a gold cup
full of abominations and of the unclean things of her immorality, 5 and upon her
forehead a name was written, a mystery, "BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF
HARLOTS AND OF THE ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH." 6 And I saw the woman drunk with
the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the witnesses of Jesus. And when
I saw her, I wondered greatly. 7 And the angel said to me, "Why do you wonder? I
shall tell you the mystery of the woman and of the beast that carries her, which
has the seven heads and the ten horns. 8 "The beast that you saw was and is not,
and is about to come up out of the abyss and to go to destruction. And those who
dwell on the earth will wonder, whose name has not been written in the book of
life from the foundation of the world, when they see the beast, that he was and
is not and will come. 9 "Here is the mind which has wisdom. The seven heads are
seven mountains on which the woman sits, 10 and they are seven kings; five have
fallen, one is, the other has not yet come; and when he comes, he must remain a
little while. 11 "And the beast which was and is not, is himself also an eighth,
and is one of the seven, and he goes to destruction. 12 "And the ten horns which
you saw are ten kings, who have not yet received a kingdom, but they receive
authority as kings with the beast for one hour. 13 "These have one purpose and
they give their power and authority to the beast. 14 "These will wage war
against the Lamb, and the Lamb will overcome them, because He is Lord of lords
and King of kings, and those who are with Him are the called and chosen and
faithful." 15 And he said to me, "The waters which you saw where the harlot
sits, are peoples and multitudes and nations and tongues. 16 "And the ten horns
which you saw, and the beast, these will hate the harlot and will make her
desolate and naked, and will eat her flesh and will burn her up with fire. 17
"For God has put it in their hearts to execute His purpose by having a common
purpose, and by giving their kingdom to the beast, until the words of God should
be fulfilled. 18 "And the woman whom you saw is the great city, which reigns
over the kings of the earth." NASB
Middle Tribulation Prophecies
Daniel 9:27
27 He will
confirm a covenant with many for one 'seven.' In the middle of the 'seven' he
will put an end to sacrifice and offering. And on a wing [of the temple] he will
set up an abomination that causes desolation, until the end that is decreed is
poured out on him."
Revelation 13 (Summary of next 42 months to come)
13:1 And he stood on the sand of the seashore.
And I saw a beast coming up out of the sea, having ten horns and seven heads,
and on his horns were ten diadems, and on his heads were blasphemous names. 2
And the beast which I saw was like a leopard, and his feet were like those of a
bear, and his mouth like the mouth of a lion. And the dragon gave him his power
and his throne and great authority. 3 And I saw one of his heads as if it had
been slain, and his fatal wound was healed. And the whole earth was amazed and
followed after the beast; 4 and they worshiped the dragon, because he gave
his authority to the beast; and they worshiped the beast, saying, "Who is like
the beast, and who is able to wage war with him?" 5 And there was given to him a
mouth speaking arrogant words and blasphemies; and authority to act for
forty-two months was given to him. 6 And he opened his mouth in blasphemies
against God, to blaspheme His name and His tabernacle, that is, those who dwell
in heaven. 7 And it was given to him to make war with the saints and to overcome
them; and authority over every tribe and people and tongue and nation was given
to him. 8 And all who dwell on the earth will worship him, everyone whose
name has not been written from the foundation of the world in the book of life
of the Lamb who has been slain. 9 If anyone has an ear, let him hear. 10 If
anyone is destined for captivity, to captivity he goes; if anyone kills with the
sword, with the sword he must be killed. Here is the perseverance and the faith
of the saints.
11 And I saw another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like
a lamb, and he spoke as a dragon. 12 And he exercises all the authority of the
first beast in his presence. And he makes the earth and those who dwell in it to
worship the first beast, whose fatal wound was healed. 13 And he performs great
signs, so that he even makes fire come down out of heaven to the earth in the
presence of men. 14 And he deceives those who dwell on the earth because of the
signs which it was given him to perform in the presence of the beast, telling
those who dwell on the earth to make an image to the beast who had the wound of
the sword and has come to life. 15 And there was given to him to give breath to
the image of the beast, that the image of the beast might even speak and cause
as many as do not worship the image of the beast to be killed. 16 And he causes
all, the small and the great, and the rich and the poor, and the free men and
the slaves, to be given a mark on their right hand, or on their forehead, 17 and
he provides that no one should be able to buy or to sell, except the one who has
the mark, either the name of the beast or the number of his name. 18 Here is
wisdom. Let him who has understanding calculate the number of the beast, for the
number is that of a man; and his number is six hundred and sixty-six.

- Satan cast out of second heaven below God's throne
Revelation 12:6-9
6 And the woman fled into the wilderness where she had a place prepared by God,
so that there she might be nourished for one thousand two hundred and sixty
days.
7 And there was war in heaven, Michael and his angels waging war with the
dragon. And the dragon and his angels waged war, 8 and they were not strong
enough, and there was no longer a place found for them in heaven. 9 And the
great dragon was thrown down, the serpent of old who is called the devil and
Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was thrown down to the earth, and his
angels were thrown down with him. NIV (Emphasis mine)

sons of your people, will arise. And there will be a time of distress such
as never occurred since there was a nation until that time; and at that time
your people, everyone who is found written in the book, will be rescued. 2 "And
many of those who sleep in the dust of the ground will awake, these to

Anti-Christ Revealed
2
Thessalonians 2:1-10
2:1 Concerning
the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our being gathered to him, we ask you,
brothers, 2 not to become easily unsettled or alarmed by some prophecy, report
or letter supposed to have come from us, saying that the day of the Lord has
already come. 3 Don't let anyone deceive you in any way, for that day will not
come until the rebellion occurs and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the man
doomed to destruction. 4 He will oppose and will exalt himself over everything
that is called God or is worshiped, so that he sets himself up in God's temple,
proclaiming himself to be God.
5 Don't you
remember that when I was with you I used to tell you these things? 6 And now you
know what is holding him back, so that he may be revealed at the proper time. 7
For the secret power of lawlessness is already at work; but the one who now
holds it back will continue to do so till he is taken out of the way. 8 And then
the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord Jesus will overthrow with the
breath of his mouth and destroy by the splendor of his coming. 9 The coming of
the lawless one will be in accordance with the work of Satan displayed in all
kinds of counterfeit miracles, signs and wonders, 10 and in every sort of evil
that deceives those who are perishing. They perish because they refused to love
the truth and so be saved. NIV (Emphasis mine)

144,000 Sealed in protection by angels with seal of God
Revelation
7:1-8
1 After this I
saw four angels standing at the four corners of the earth, holding back the four
winds of the earth to prevent any wind from blowing on the land or on the sea or
on any tree. 2 Then I saw another angel coming up from the east, having the seal
of the living God. He called out in a loud voice to the four angels who had been
given power to harm the land and the sea: 3 "Do not harm the land or the sea or
the trees until we put a seal on the foreheads of the servants of our God." 4
Then I heard the number of those who were sealed: 144,000 from all the tribes
of Israel.
5 From the tribe
of Judah 12,000 were sealed,
from the tribe
of Reuben 12,000,

Revelation
12: 13-17
13 And when the
dragon saw that he was thrown down to the earth, he persecuted the woman who
gave birth to the male child. 14 And the two wings of the great eagle were given
to the woman, in order that she might fly into the wilderness to her place,
where she was nourished for a time and times and half a time, from the presence
of the serpent. 15 And the serpent poured water like a river out of his mouth
after the woman, so that he might cause her to be swept away with the flood. 16
And the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened its mouth and drank up the
river which the dragon poured out of his mouth. 17 And the dragon was enraged
with the woman, and went off to make war with the rest of her offspring, who
keep the commandments of God and hold to the testimony of Jesus. NASB

7:9-17
9 After this I
looked and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count,

14 I answered,
"Sir, you know."

"These are they who have come out of the great tribulation; they have washed

1 I saw in heaven another

because with them God's wrath is completed.
2 And I saw what looked like a sea of glass mixed with fire and, standing beside
the sea, those who had been

God and the song of the Lamb:
"Great and marvelous are your deeds,

Just and true are your ways,

5 After this I looked
and in heaven the temple, that is, the tabernacle of the Testimony, was opened.
6 Out of the temple came the seven angels with the seven plagues. They were
dressed in clean, shining linen and wore golden sashes around their chests. 7
Then one of the four living creatures gave to the seven angels seven

Revelation
9:1-12 (5th trumpet)
1 The fifth
angel sounded his trumpet, and I saw a star that had fallen from the sky to the
earth. The star was given the key to the shaft of the Abyss. 2 When he opened
the Abyss, smoke rose from it like the smoke from a gigantic furnace. The sun
and sky were darkened by the smoke from the Abyss. 3 And out of the smoke
locusts came down upon the earth and were given power like that of scorpions of
the earth. 4 They were told not to harm the grass of the earth or any plant or
tree, but only those people who did not have the seal of God on their foreheads.
5 They were not given power to kill them, but only to torture them for five
months. And the agony they suffered was like that of the sting of a scorpion
when it strikes a man. 6 During those days men will seek death, but will not
find it; they will long to die, but death will elude them.
7 The locusts
looked like horses prepared for battle. On their heads they wore something like
crowns of gold, and their faces resembled human faces. 8 Their hair was like
women's hair, and their teeth were like lions' teeth. 9 They had breastplates
like breastplates of iron, and the sound of their wings was like the thundering
of many horses and chariots rushing into battle. 10 They had tails and stings
like scorpions, and in their tails they had power to torment people for five
months. 11 They had as king over them the angel of the Abyss, whose name in
Hebrew is Abaddon, and in Greek, Apollyon.
12 The first woe
is past; two other woes are yet to come. NIV
Revelation
16:10-11 (5th bowl)
10 The fifth
angel poured out his bowl on the throne of the beast, and his kingdom was

Revelation
9:13-21 (6th trumpet)
13 The sixth
angel sounded his trumpet, and I heard a voice coming from the horns of the
golden altar that is before God. 14 It said to the sixth angel who had the
trumpet, "Release the four angels who are bound at the great river Euphrates."
15 And the four angels who had been kept ready for this very hour and day and
month and year were released to kill a third of mankind. 16 The number of the
mounted troops was two hundred million. I heard their number.
17 The horses
and riders I saw in my vision looked like this: Their breastplates were fiery
red, dark blue, and yellow as sulfur. The heads of the horses resembled the
heads of lions, and out of their mouths came fire, smoke and sulfur. 18 A third
of mankind was killed by the three plagues of fire, smoke and sulfur that came
out of their mouths. 19 The power of the horses was in their mouths and in their
tails; for their tails were like snakes, having heads with which they inflict
injury.
20 The rest of
mankind that were not killed by these plagues still did not repent of the work
of their hands; they did not stop worshiping demons, and idols of gold, silver,
bronze, stone and wood-idols that cannot see or hear or walk. 21 Nor did they
repent of their murders, their magic arts, their sexual immorality or their
thefts. NIV
Revelation
16:12-14 (6th bowl)
12 The sixth
angel poured out his bowl on the great river Euphrates, and its water was
dried up to prepare the way for the kings from the East. 13 Then I saw three
evil spirits that looked like frogs; they came out of the mouth of the dragon,
out of the mouth of the beast and out of the mouth of the false prophet. 14 They
are spirits of demons performing miraculous signs, and they go out to the kings
of the whole world, to gather them for the battle on the great day of God
Almighty. NIV (Emphasis mine)

53 For the perishable must clothe itself with the imperishable, and the mortal

like it has ever occurred since man has been on earth, so tremendous was the
quake. 19 The great city split into three parts, and the cities of the nations
collapsed. God remembered Babylon the Great and gave her the cup filled
with the wine of the fury of his wrath. 20 Every island fled away and the

14:1-10
1 A day of the

2 I will gather
all the nations to Jerusalem to fight against it; the city will be captured, the
houses ransacked, and the women raped. Half of the city will go into exile, but
the rest of the people will not be taken from the city.
3 Then the LORD
will go out and fight against those nations, as he fights in the day of battle.
4 On that day his feet will stand on the Mount of Olives, east of
Jerusalem, and the Mount of Olives will be split in two from east to west,
forming a great valley, with half of the mountain moving north and half moving
south. 5 You will flee by my mountain valley, for it will extend to Azel. You
will flee as you fled from the earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah.
Then the LORD my God will come, and all the holy ones with him.
6 On that day
there will be no light, no cold or frost. 7 It will be a unique day, without
daytime or nighttime-a day known to the LORD. When evening comes, there will be
light.
8 On that day
living water will flow out from Jerusalem, half to the eastern sea and half to
the western sea, in summer and in winter.
9 The LORD will
be king over the whole earth. On that day there will be one LORD, and his name

Millennial Prophecies
·
Millennium Kingdom of Christ set up with Israel preaching
gospel 1000 years
Revelation 14
1 Then I looked,
and there before me was the Lamb, standing on Mount Zion, and with him
144,000 who had his name and his Father's name written on their foreheads. 2
And I heard a sound from heaven like the roar of rushing waters and like a loud
peal of thunder. The sound I heard was like that of harpists playing their
harps. 3 And they sang a new song before the throne and before the four living
creatures and the elders. No one could learn the song except the 144,000 who had
been redeemed from the earth. 4 These are those who did not defile themselves
with women, for they kept themselves pure. They follow the Lamb wherever he
goes. They were purchased from among men and offered as firstfruits to God and
the Lamb. 5 No lie was found in their mouths; they are blameless.
6 Then I saw
another angel flying in midair, and he had the eternal gospel to proclaim to
those who live on the earth-to every nation, tribe, language and people. 7 He
said in a loud voice, "Fear God and give him glory, because the hour of his
judgment has come. Worship him who made the heavens, the earth, the sea and the
springs of water."
8 A second angel
followed and said, "Fallen! Fallen is Babylon the Great, which made all the
nations drink the maddening wine of her adulteries."
9 A third angel
followed them and said in a loud voice: "If anyone worships the beast and his
image and receives his mark on the forehead or on the hand, 10 he, too, will
drink of the wine of God's fury, which has been poured full strength into the
cup of his wrath. He will be tormented with burning sulfur in the presence of
the holy angels and of the Lamb. 11 And the smoke of their torment rises for
ever and ever. There is no rest day or night for those who worship the beast and
his image, or for anyone who receives the mark of his name." 12 This calls for
patient endurance on the part of the saints who obey God's commandments and
remain faithful to Jesus.
13 Then I heard
a voice from heaven say, "Write: Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from
now on."
"Yes," says the
Spirit, "they will rest from their labor, for their deeds will follow them."
14 I looked, and
there before me was a white cloud, and seated on the cloud was one "like a son
of man" with a crown of gold on his head and a sharp sickle in his hand. 15 Then
another angel came out of the temple and called in a loud voice to him who was
sitting on the cloud, "Take your sickle and reap, because the time to reap has
come, for the harvest of the earth is ripe." 16 So he who was seated on the
cloud swung his sickle over the earth, and the earth was harvested.
17 Another angel
came out of the temple in heaven, and he too had a sharp sickle. 18 Still
another angel, who had charge of the fire, came from the altar and called in a
loud voice to him who had the sharp sickle, "Take your sharp sickle and gather
the clusters of grapes from the earth's vine, because its grapes are ripe." 19
The angel swung his sickle on the earth, gathered its grapes and threw them into
the great winepress of God's wrath. 20 They were trampled in the winepress
outside the city, and blood flowed out of the press, rising as high as the
horses' bridles for a distance of 1,600 stadia. NIV (Emphasis mine)
Matthew
24:13-14

of the kingdom shall be preached in the whole world for a witness to all the
nations, and then the end shall come.

Babylon Kingdom Destroyed
Revelation 18-19
18:1 After these things I saw another angel coming down from heaven, having
great authority, and the earth was illumined with his glory. 2 And he cried out
with a mighty voice, saying, "Fallen, fallen is Babylon the great! And she has
become a dwelling place of demons and a prison of every unclean spirit, and a
prison of every unclean and hateful bird. 3 "For all the nations have drunk of
the wine of the passion of her immorality, and the kings of the earth have
committed acts of immorality with her, and the merchants of the earth have
become rich by the wealth of her sensuality."
4 And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, "Come out of her, my people,
that you may not participate in her sins and that you may not receive of her
plagues; 5 for her sins have piled up as high as heaven, and God has remembered
her iniquities. 6 "Pay her back even as she has paid, and give back to her
double according to her deeds; in the cup which she has mixed, mix twice as much
for her. 7 "To the degree that she glorified herself and lived sensuously, to
the same degree give her torment and mourning; for she says in her heart, 'I sit
as a queen and I am not a widow, and will never see mourning.' 8 "For this
reason in one day her plagues will come, pestilence and mourning and famine, and
she will be burned up with fire; for the Lord God who judges her is strong. 9
"And the kings of the earth, who committed acts of immorality and lived
sensuously with her, will weep and lament over her when they see the smoke of
her burning, 10 standing at a distance because of the fear of her torment,
saying,' Woe, woe, the great city, Babylon, the strong city! For in one hour
your judgment has come.' 11 "And the merchants of the earth weep and mourn over
her, because no one buys their cargoes any more; 12 cargoes of gold and silver
and precious stones and pearls and fine linen and purple and silk and scarlet,
and every kind of citron wood and every article of ivory and every article made
from very costly wood and bronze and iron and marble, 13 and cinnamon and spice
and incense and perfume and frankincense and wine and olive oil and fine flour
and wheat and cattle and sheep, and cargoes of horses and chariots and slaves
and human lives. 14 "And the fruit you long for has gone from you, and all
things that were luxurious and splendid have passed away from you and men will
no longer find them. 15 "The merchants of these things, who became rich from
her, will stand at a distance because of the fear of her torment, weeping and
mourning, 16 saying,' Woe, woe, the great city, she who was clothed in fine
linen and purple and scarlet, and adorned with gold and precious stones and
pearls; 17 for in one hour such great wealth has been laid waste!' And every
shipmaster and every passenger and sailor, and as many as make their living by
the sea, stood at a distance, 18 and were crying out as they saw the smoke of
her burning, saying,' What city is like the great city?' 19 "And they threw dust
on their heads and were crying out, weeping and mourning, saying, 'Woe, woe, the
great city, in which all who had ships at sea became rich by her wealth, for in
one hour she has been laid waste!' 20 "Rejoice over her, O heaven, and you
saints and apostles and prophets, because God has pronounced judgment for you
against her."
21 And a strong angel took up a stone like a great millstone and threw it into
the sea, saying, "Thus will Babylon, the great city, be thrown down with
violence, and will not be found any longer. 22 "And the sound of harpists and
musicians and flute-players and trumpeters will not be heard in you any longer;
and no craftsman of any craft will be found in you any longer; and the sound of
a mill will not be heard in you any longer; 23 and the light of a lamp will not
shine in you any longer; and the voice of the bridegroom and bride will not be
heard in you any longer; for your merchants were the great men of the earth,
because all the nations were deceived by your sorcery. 24 "And in her was found
the blood of prophets and of saints and of all who have been slain on the
earth." NASB
19:1 After these things I heard, as it were, a loud voice
of a great multitude in heaven, saying,
"Hallelujah! Salvation and glory and power belong to our God; 2 because His
judgments are true and righteous; for He has judged the great harlot who was
corrupting the earth with her immorality, and He has avenged the blood of His
bond-servants on her. " 3 And a second time they said, "Hallelujah! Her smoke
rises up forever and ever." 4 And the twenty-four elders and the four living
creatures fell down and worshiped God who sits on the throne saying, "Amen.
Hallelujah!" 5 And a voice came from the throne, saying,
"Give praise to our God, all you His bond-servants, you who fear Him, the small
and the great." 6 And I heard, as it were, the voice of a great multitude and as
the sound of many waters and as the sound of mighty peals of thunder, saying,
"Hallelujah! For the Lord our God, the Almighty, reigns. 7 "Let us rejoice and
be glad and give the glory to Him, for the marriage of the Lamb has come and His
bride has made herself ready." 8 And it was given to her to clothe herself in
fine linen, bright and clean; for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the
saints. 9 And he said to me, "Write, 'Blessed are those who are invited to the
marriage supper of the Lamb.'" And he said to me, "These are true words of God."
10 And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said to me, "Do not do that; I
am a fellow servant of yours and your brethren who hold the testimony of Jesus;
worship God. For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy."
11 And I saw heaven opened; and behold, a white horse, and He who sat upon it is
called Faithful and True; and in righteousness He judges and wages war. 12 And
His eyes are a flame of fire, and upon His head are many diadems; and He has a
name written upon Him which no one knows except Himself. 13 And He is clothed
with a robe dipped in blood; and His name is called The Word of God. 14 And the
armies which are in heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and clean, were
following Him on white horses. 15 And from His mouth comes a sharp sword, so
that with it He may smite the nations; and He will rule them with a rod of iron;
and He treads the wine press of the fierce wrath of God, the Almighty. 16 And on
His robe and on His thigh He has a name written, "KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF
LORDS."
17 And I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried out with a loud voice,
saying to all the birds which fly in midheaven, "Come, assemble for the great
supper of God; 18 in order that you may eat the flesh of kings and the flesh of
commanders and the flesh of mighty men and the flesh of horses and of those who
sit on them and the flesh of all men, both free men and slaves, and small and
great. "
19 And I saw the beast and the kings of the earth and their armies, assembled to
make war against Him who sat upon the horse, and against His army. 20 And the
beast was seized, and with him the false prophet who performed the signs in his
presence, by which he deceived those who had received the mark of the beast and
those who worshiped his image; these two were thrown alive into the lake of fire
which burns with brimstone. 21 And the rest were killed with the sword which
came from the mouth of Him who sat upon the horse, and all the birds were filled
with their flesh. NASB
